How to Organize Under Bathroom Sink When You Have No Storage

How to organize under bathroom sink when you have no storage!

Have you ever had a problem where you just keep shoving things under your bathroom sink because there is nowhere else to put all the “stuff” ? Or worse, where there is no storage, like drawers. Drawers in bathrooms are the dream! But what if you have no drawer storage?

Today, I will share how to create storage in a bathroom with no drawer space.

We all know how important bathroom storage is and when you don’t have it, bathrooms can often become cluttered. Whether under the sink or on the counters. I feel that it is important to have a space you use every day to be organized and in order. After all, that is where you start your day.

I will be sharing how I put an organization system under by bathroom sink to create more storage for my needs and create a system so that it will stay organized and every item will have a place to go.

Under the sink before:

The before was messy and cluttered, had no system and no matter how many times I tidied it up it would always return to the mess it started with. Why? No system!

To solve my problem, I created drawer space!  These amazing stackable drawers from the Container Store helped me create the storage I desperately needed. If you don’t have a Container store near you, you can purchase similar ones here (plastic) and here (acrylic).

Before creating a system I had some products that I used for storing certain things but decided not to use any of them for this bathroom organization since they were a bit random and didn’t work together for this space.

How to organize under your bathroom sink:

To start, I took everything out and began to declutter. Before organizing I needed to sort through what I was keeping and what had to go.

As a guide, I created a bathroom declutter checklist that will help you declutter by different bathroom categories, grab it below!

Next, I sorted like items together and categorized items that would go in the same drawers. The reason I decided to use these drawers was because it would help me maximize the vertical space, which in the end gave me more space under the other side of the sink.

Some categories I created for the drawers included:

      • Body – Razor head refills, soap bars, deodorants, q-tips

      • Dental – Floss, toothpaste, whitening strips, toothbrush chargers.

To store the toothbrush chargers I contained them in mesh zipper pouches. If you want to see how I used them for different things around my home click here for that post.

        • Hair Cutting – Scissors, clipper/ clipper attachments, cape

To separate the hair clipper sizes I used small containers

          • Nails – cuticle pusher, clippers, nail polishes, files, nail remover

            • Hair accessories – Hair bands, hair clips, accessories

            • Face – Face masks, micro roller, face peels

            • Back stock – Extra items from any category

            • Feminine – Menstrual pads, etc

On the other side of the sink, I used a large bin to house all the hair tools and hair products together.

Personally, I wanted all the hair items to be in one area. If that doesn’t work for you I recommend a turn table for your hair products. I use this one for my daily face products and keep it right on my countertop, and I couldn’t recommend it enough!

          Label:

Lastly, I labeled the drawers so I know exactly where everything goes and know where everything is. I used the P touch Cube labeler, you can find it here.

I labeled the farmhouse bin using this chalk pen.

          Conclusion:

Finally, I have my bathroom sink organized! I’ve learned that without an organization system, it is hard to maintain any space organized long term. When there’s a system in place you are more likely to put things in their designated spot.

I hope this inspired you to clean out your bathroom’s under-the-sink area to create a functional space for you and your needs.

          Happy Organizing!
